Weekend Things

Not much to report from our weekend, as we were all sick but it wasn’t all a wash, so I figured I’d still post.

My only Friday photo because I was feeling ROUGH. Dempsey had been sick all week so he was finally better just in time for Lyds and I to catch it. Thought this biscuit would revive me but it didn’t 😞

Look at my sad baby girl! We had a slow start to our Saturday but I made us buttermilk pancakes and then Joey took Dempsey to swim followed by a birthday party. He graduated to level 2 in swim!!!!! I’m so proud 🥺 And I got a video of him jumping around in the bouncy castle so I think he had fun at the party. Lydia and I got in a good nap. She had been tossing and turning and waking up crying every 30-60 minutes for the past two nights so when she finally took a good nap, I was relieved! Is it even Saturday if your husband doesn’t fall asleep on the couch while you’re watching GBBO?? Ordered in Chook for dinner to keep things easy.

Someone was suuuuuper sleepy on Sunday morning! Joey and Lydia went to pick up coffee and bagel sandwiches from Call Your Mother and I knew I was feeling better when I was suddenly cleaning the windows?? 😂 Dempsey found the face paints in our Halloween costume box and wanted to see how they worked so he was a cat for a bit. Got salads made, Halloween decorations out/up, laundry done and took a family walk and it was so nice to get outside and move around. Would you look at my sweet boy with his flamingo skeleton and ring pop? After dinner he wanted me to go in the backyard with him to lay in the grass like we did a few weeks back and how could I say no?? Feel like we had some really sweet moments together this weekend 🥰

Joey is full on sick now so please pray for me this week 😅

Weekend Things

October is here and I couldn’t be happier! It’s truly just such a beautiful month that hopefully gives us some bluebird days and some cozy nights. Plus we have Dempsey’s birthday and Halloween to celebrate. Gonna be the best!

We had a busy week with something going on every day, then a weekend with a Rockies game, Delaney’s first birthday party and a family dinner so our sleep schedule has been a little off but it was all worth it 🤍

Our last game of the season and we all got to go! Joey got us some really good seats a few rows up from the visitors’ dugout and the weather was perfect. I had no intentions of letting my children stay up late enough to see the fireworks after the game but sometimes the energy it takes to worry and be a “no” person is exhausting. Turns out it’s easier and more fun to say “yes” occasionally 😋 My sis and Wayne were a few sections over and got to come watch the show with us, so it was extra sweet and both kids seemed unfazed by the noise. Demps loved it!

The littles had kind of a rough night but we finally all made it out of bed by 7:30 (late for us 😬) and Dempsey helped me make biscuits for biscuits and gravy. Then he was off to swim and back home for a quick bath before Delaney’s birthday party. Wow, Betsy and Jory blew me away with their decorations! And Delaney looked so cute in her “Holy Cow, I’m ONE” outfit 🤍🖤 Dempsey was running around having too much fun and Lyds was a happy girl. We took them home for naps and then Demps wanted to wreack havoc for the rest of the night, which included throwing his plate across the table 🤪 His loss because Joey made us a really good dinner. Got those kiddos to bed and finished Season 2 of The Bear, which I liked way more than Season 1 even if I have a hard time suspending disbelief a lot of the time.

Happy Sunday, Happy October and Happy Birthday to Uncle Adam! 🎉 We walked to Tennyson for coffee, then back home for breakfast, naps, bats and laundry. Joey and I somehow both fit in a run and I made salads for the week while the boys hit up Home Depot for paint. We have a little Harry Potter-style closet upstairs that’s been full of boxes of baby clothes but we cleared it out and now it’s a playroom for Dempsey! Joey got lights for it and they got to work painting it “dark dark orange” per Dempsey’s request. I love how excited he’s been about it! At 4:40, we headed over to Grandma and Chaddy’s for a lasagna dinner in celebration of Uncle Adam’s birthday and it was a really nice evening. They have the front yard DECKED OUT and Dempsey loved looking at it all. The kids all play together so well and it’s just super sweet to watch them together. Lori got trick candles and Dempsey was just so determined to keep blowing them out again and again and again 😂😂 Got home, got the kids to bed and got to watch Big Brother, so I was happy. I hope everyone has a nice week!
