This Weekend I…

Got bit by the happy hour bug.  And the only real cure is Root Down.

Realized the struggle to stay up late on a Friday night is real.  Especially when you just ate a bunch of delicious food and washed it down with a Paloma.

Woke up feeling refreshed on Saturday morning.  Maybe going to bed early on Friday wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Went on an early morning run and met Joey at our coffee shop for breakfast.  Toast with almond butter and lavender honey, for the win!

Spent the rest of the day with my mom!  Massage, pizza lunch date, Pampered Chef party, and the most beautiful weather.

Came home to find Joey “skunk-proofing” our house.  Don’t even get me started with those skunks.

Watched Heathers.  Um how cool/weird/80’s/cult classic-y is that movie?!  “Greetings and salutations.”

Accidentally slept in on Sunday.  Good thing we had nowhere to be and nothing to do.

Made pancakes.  Viva la Pancake Sunday!  Oh and we bought coffee beans on Saturday that Joey brewed while I pancaked.

Went for a run/picnic at Cheesman.  We found Jenn there!

Got told we are “such a married couple!”  I kinda liked it 🙂

Sat on our porch and read.  I am so sucked into We Were Liars.

Made Shepherd’s Pie for dinner.  We had planned on going to my parents’ for corned beef but decided to do our St. Patrick’s Day celebrating on Tuesday instead.

Happy Monday!  What did you do this weekend?

This Week

It rained too much for my liking.

Our white picket fence is now a mud picket fence.  Sunshine only for me, please!

I tried to start The Fault in Our Stars.

I know this is going to make me wildly unpopular, but I HATED it.  Am I supposed to be impressed that a 40-year-old man can write like a 16-year-old girl?  Also, I was like a paragraph into meeting Augustus and I could already tell you that he was going to be the one to die in the end.  I just couldn’t do it.

I didn’t get Great American Beer Festival tickets.

Womp womp!  I swear the security words kept getting harder and harder to read until they were just plain indecipherable.  Maybe they were trying to weed out the weak ones.  And it worked — I gave up shortly after this.

Joey made this salad.

And the dressing was SO GOOD that I actually contemplated just drinking the leftovers.

We signed up for the Denver Rock n Roll 10K!

Pretty psyched that they added a 10K distance this year.  I’ve been waiting for something between the half marathon and the mini marathon and they finally added it.  Also, because until we heard there was a 10K, we weren’t planning on doing it this year and I was kind of bummed because I love the RnR so much.  I’m so happy that we’re doing it now 🙂

I bought Joey a wedding ring!

Sadly, it was more expensive and not as purple as this one, which I found inside the candle Hannah gave us all as part of our bridesmaid gifts.

We did our initial walk through at Cheesman.

Basically, a Parks & Rec rep signed off on our ceremony set up plan and now we just have to go get the actual permit.  We might even apply for that marriage license thing while we’re there 🙂

Also, the park is in full bloom and looks lovely!

I wrote up a whole “house tour” post, then bailed on it to post this one 🙂

Happy Friday!
