It was Feaster weekend and feast we did! On sushi, on Beyoncé, on gourmet hot dogs, on chubby babies, on smoked ribs, on family time and on red velvet cake because Sunday was also my sister’s birthday ♥
Friday was Poker Night for Joey, but he took me to dinner beforehand and despite how pretty those sushi rolls look, they tasted just okay. Never let me not order the Green Machine Roll again, what a mistake! Afterward, I watched Beyoncé: Homecoming by myself and I was BLOWN AWAY! Missing the live stream of her Coachella performance last year is one of the biggest regrets of my life, so to say I was happy to be able to watch it in its entirety is a HUGE understatement. She is such an incredible performer and her talent and passion and work ethic is just amazing to behold. If you haven’t watched, I HIGHLY recommend you do!
Saturday started with buttermilk waffles and really, why do I make any other kind?? So good! Also maybe made Joey watch an abbreviated version of Homecoming. He’s never been the biggest Beyoncé fan but afterward, he asked if we could start every day by watching it, so there you go. We spent the middle portion of the day doing chores and also a quick trip to both Lowe’s and Home Depot but then we cleaned ourselves up to go to Biker Jim’s and the Rockies game with our families, but most importantly with Ellie! She was truly well-behaved and how lucky are we to be able to bring another baby to their first Rockies game?? We lost but I was barely paying attention anyway.
A busy but wonderful Sunday! We started it with a run. Three miles for me but Joey went 8 since he’s training for the Colfax Half Marathon. I picked us up some iced coffee and then ate breakfast in the backyard and it made me the happiest. We celebrated Easter and April (plus one May) birthday with Joey’s side of the family and please note how my father-in-law could not take his eyes off dessert in that picture!
After, we headed to my parents’ to celebrate Easter and my little sis! We put together a basket for my mom since she’s so wonderful and puts one together for us every year ♥ She got Joey the Game of Thrones Oreos! We feasted on enchilada casserole and red velvet cake and Joey maybe downloaded a candle app so we could sing to my sister. It was the best.
Back at home, I cried like 7 times during Game of Thrones and also yelled “OH MY GOD!!!!” during that one scene. You know the one 😛 How was your Easter weekend?
