Weekend Things

It’s sometimes very difficult to write these weekend things posts. Not because I don’t have time or free hands (but I also don’t have those things 😋), but because I’ve lost all track of what day it is! I can only tell by when Joey is working and not and as for the date? Forget it! I think Christmas is Friday?! This holiday season has gone by way too fast!

Right now, I am getting extra snuggles from a baby who got his 2-month shots today and it extra sleepy now, but I guess being stuck on the couch is as good a time as any to write this post. Quick, before I forget what we even did this weekend!

We got snow on Friday! I got to watch it come down from the nursery window while I was up there to FaceTime with my sister. We miss her but she got the vaccine today and we get to see her for an outdoor activity next month! Grandma Lori came to visit and Dempsey showed off his newfound alertness by playing on his activity mat before falling asleep in Grandma’s arms. We ordered ramen from, not Uncle, but Ramen Star and it was so good and perfect for a snowy evening. Broke our Christmas movie binge to watch Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and my only complaint was that I wanted it to be longer!

Joey was up early with Dempsey on Saturday so when I came down, I made the pancake recipe my mom always used when we were little, then we swapped places so I could feed the baby and a bit later, I was presented this plate. They were so tender and delicious! Afterward, we threw on Elf and did some cleaning and present wrapping while Dempsey slept in his downstairs pack n play (for the first time!). He even slept through Joey vacuuming. Steve and Lorna came over that afternoon and Dempsey “opened” his first Christmas present! Too cute! We watched Love Actually that night and definitely didn’t make it to SNL.

Sunday started with SNL and a Onefold order. I got my burrito smothered for the first time and I don’t know why I hadn’t ordered it that way before! And I got to drink a Vietnamese iced coffee for the first time in over 9 months. So good! My parents came to visit afterward, so yes, Dempsey got to see all his grandparents this weekend. Lucky boy! He is so loved. He fell asleep in another grandma’s arms ❤️ After they left, I attempted a run but I think I may have gone too hard too fast because my shins and ankles are not doing well and I ended up just walking. We took our little love’s 2 month photos later on and he was hamming it up!! Gosh these baby smiles are the best! We made salad for weekday lunch, heated up leftovers and watched Ozymandias all while Dempsey fought his nap. Just how I always imagined watching that all-important episode of Breaking Bad 😂

I hope you are all having a good Christmas week!
