Weekend Things

We had another very open weekend and it meant getting to make a spontaneous trip to the children’s museum, lots of Lego time, going for a walk and, the kids’ favorite… a trip to the office 😂 My mom, sister and I also got to go see Wicked: For Good and while hanging with the two of them was undoubtably good, For Good was… bad. Sorry, not sorry, but I really did not enjoy it. What can you do? I’m so looking forward to this week and Thanksgiving though!

Friday, I worked from home as usual and even though I’m only two episodes away from finishing TSITP, I re-watched Wicked instead 😂 Lori brought the kids home and they got to play for a bit with Delaney before they left and Joey brought home wings for dinner. After, we watched half an episode of Holiday Baking Championship and the kids were actually really attentive, so I love that for all of us. We also showed Dempsey a few Blue Man Group videos and it’s his new favorite thing!

Saturday started with spiced pear pancakes, some playing — LOL at Dempsey’s “ofrenda” inside his tent — and me looking through my teapot collection for a cake topper for Lydia’s tea party-themed birthday party. I found the one! Then we decided to head to the children’s museum for a bit. Bad planning when we were there for less than an hour and realized we were all starving but luckily they have a cafe area that we could grab a snack in. Dempsey made a “guy climbing a rock wall” from clay and we paid to have it fired in the kiln. Can’t wait to see it and let him paint it! Back at home, we hung out until dinner time. Dempsey turned up his nose at these garlic parm chicken tenders, but I thought they were really good. Got them to bed and watched Nobody 2, which was… fine, then went to bed ourselves.

I got up and worked out on Sunday then walked to get coffee while Joey got the kids up. We all had breakfast and hung out doing Legos and playing until the kids and Joey left for the office. Dempsey had been asking about going ALL weekend, so they were more than ready to head out! Shortly after, I headed to pick my mom up for the movie. Sooo many little Glindas in the audience and those parents are way braver than me, bringing small children to a two hour fifteen minute long movie. Ugh, I was really hoping to like it because I had such fun with the first one, but the songs are so boring, the tone is so serious and the plot is so muddled. A lot of that was out of the filmmakers’ control but still. For what it’s worth, my mom and sister still liked it. I had a pic of the kids eating giant pizza slices when I got out of the movie 😍 Got home to one kid napping and one kid resting and then we just hung out until spaghetti dinner time. Got the kids to bed and started Decision to Leave but I was so tired and went up to bed at 9. I hope you all had a nice weekend and are looking forward to Thanksgiving!
