Hello and Happy New Year! All in all, we had a really good 2025 — as evidenced by my one-second-a-day video that we watched on New Year’s Day and had the kids laughing through the entire thing! π — so hopefully 2026 will bring us some equally good times. I’ve already watched six movies, so that seems promising π

After celebrating New Year’s Eve — we hung out at Adam and Lauren’s, where we ate burgers, watched the kids run around dressed as superheroes and did a 7 PM countdown — and spending New Year’s Day just hanging out, Joey and I decided to work on Friday. I watched Hedda while getting some stuff done on my computer and then, once the kids were home, we all ate black-eyed peas, cornmeal dumplings and collard greens. May it bring us good luck! Put the kiddos to bed and fired up Bugonia. I miss the strange and funny affectation all Yorgos Lanthimos characters spoke with up through Killing of a Sacred Deer but I did think Jesse Plemons and Emma Stone gave incredible performances and the ending was amazing.

A very good Saturday. We started with ebelskivers for breakfast because my mom gifted me her pan for Christmas π They were a big hit with the kids, so I guess I’ll be doubling that recipe next time! Afterward, Lydi and I drove all the way to her swim lesson only to find out it was cancelled π© I got my nails done that afternoon, then back at home, homemade applesauce and outdoor playtime with the kids. Made a cast-iron skillet pizza for dinner and put the kids to bed before watching Roofman. It was so interesting and also a true story!

It had been months since the pop-up bakery down the street from us had had a sale, so we had to go! The kids were so dramatic the entire two block walk, but they calmed down once we made it over and got our pastries. The rest of the day was very chill. I made salads, took a walk, hung out with the kids and made garlic-parm wings for dinner. I let my butter brown so the sauce doesn’t look the most appetizing, but rest assured, it was delicious! We started F1 that night, but still half to go, so I’ll report back on that one.
Back to real life and back to work today, but it feels mostly good to get back to our routine. Wishing you all a happy week!
