Weekend Things

It was a freezing cold snowy weekend, but we definitely made the most of it! I tried to get tickets to FOUR different BTS shows on Thursday and by the time I got through the queue, everything was sold out. Felt so defeated but tried again on Friday and I GOT TICKETS!!!!!!!!!! Have definitely been yelling “I’M GOING!!!!!!” five times a day since. What a happy happy feeling. We also went to a Friday happy hour at a kids tumble place, had dinner with my sister and Wayne, went to Rockies Fest, cooked a tomahawk steak and had Landon over on Sunday. Hope you all kept warm ā¤ļø

This was my first BTS ticketing experience since Joey surprised me with tickets in 2022 and WHEW, what a rush!!! Scoring those Las Vegas concert tickets was one of the most satisfying moments of my life šŸ˜‚ Shortly after the kids got home, we headed out to Tumble Haus to hang with the other kids and parents from Dempsey’s school. The kids seriously had so much fun, we’ll definitely be going back! After, we invited my sis and Wayne to meet us at Fire on the Mountain and on the way I got an alert that another show had been added to the tour! Jumped in the queue right then and there and scored tickets to that show too! We had a good fun dinner then headed home and got the kids to bed. Joey was checking ticket prices on Stub Hub and we saw some really reasonably priced ones way closer to the stage, so he got ’em and our plan is to re-sell the two sets I bought to pay for the good seats. Whew!

Saturday started with buttermilk pancakes and you know what’s good? All purpose flour and buttermilk šŸ˜‹ Afterward, we all went to Lydia’s swim lesson (she did so good!!) then headed straight to Coors Field for Rockies Fest. Did all the fun stuff in the kids zone — balloon animals, face painting and bracelet making — before grabbing lunch and going downstairs to see all the behind-the-scenes areas, like the clubhouse, grounds crew headquarters and the batting cage. Dempsey was on his last leg (literally šŸ˜‚) by the end, but I’m glad we went! Back at home, a lot of relaxing and then I made us a tomahawk steak for dinner. The direction said it would take 45 minutes to an hour but it legitimately took me THREE. I’ll know for next time but 😬 It was so good though! Put the kids right to bed afterward, then fired up Sinners for a re-watch. I feel like I was kind of disappointed/thrown off when we saw it in theaters but upon a re-watch, it’s pretty damn good!

I had a Sunday morning manicure scheduled and though it wasn’t nearly as good as my regular gal (who’s on maternity leave!), it’ll do! Fought through Bronco traffic on the highway and Bronco traffic at the grocery store and made it back home in time to see Dempsey off to the rodeo with Grandma and Chaddy. Lauren and Adam were at the Broncos game, so Landon hung out with us. Joey attempted to put the littles down for a nap, that lasted all of seven minutes, while I made salads for the week. Afterward, we all played and had a good time. Dempsey got home and Landon got picked up all around 5 PM and then we had chicken noodle soup and fresh baked sourdough (I’m ready for my bread lame, guys) then put our tired kiddos to bed. We keep taking them up at the incredibly early hour of 6 PM and because they’re tired, it still somehow takes them until 7:30 to actually give it up and go to sleep 🤪 After their bedtime, Joey and I watched Come See Me in the Good Light and wow, so moving and beautiful and absolutely heartbreaking. It’s going to stay with me for a good while ā¤ļøšŸ’”

I hope you all have a good Monday!
