Weekend Things

Friday

  • Went to Louisville and quickly discovered that it’s a madhouse on Friday night…SO MANY PEOPLE
  • Had dinner with my family
  • Ate pizza with habanero bacon
  • Stood in the longest line ever for ice cream

Saturday

  • Walked through the Navajo Street Art District on our way to get coffee
  • Ate oatmeal and drank iced coffee from mason jars… #HowHipster
  • Got a massage and a haircut in the same day.  Life is so hard!
  • Brewed the very beer we will be serving at our wedding.  Whoa!
  • Walked to a street festival and watched our wedding band perform.  Again…
  • Ate the famous Tavern Tots with Hannah and Josh

Sunday

  • Biked to the 32nd Street Farmers’ Market
  • Ate an amazing breakfast taco and an even better breakfast sandwich
  • Realized we spent all our cash on breakfast and had nothing leftover for produce.  Womp, womp!
  • Brewed yet another beer we’ll be serving at the wedding.  Lots of brewing in two days means our house is permanently hot.
  • Hung out with my very-soon-to-be mother-in-law and got lots of fresh garden veggies out of it

What did you do this weekend?

This Week

It rained too much for my liking.

Our white picket fence is now a mud picket fence.  Sunshine only for me, please!

I tried to start The Fault in Our Stars.

I know this is going to make me wildly unpopular, but I HATED it.  Am I supposed to be impressed that a 40-year-old man can write like a 16-year-old girl?  Also, I was like a paragraph into meeting Augustus and I could already tell you that he was going to be the one to die in the end.  I just couldn’t do it.

I didn’t get Great American Beer Festival tickets.

Womp womp!  I swear the security words kept getting harder and harder to read until they were just plain indecipherable.  Maybe they were trying to weed out the weak ones.  And it worked — I gave up shortly after this.

Joey made this salad.

And the dressing was SO GOOD that I actually contemplated just drinking the leftovers.

We signed up for the Denver Rock n Roll 10K!

Pretty psyched that they added a 10K distance this year.  I’ve been waiting for something between the half marathon and the mini marathon and they finally added it.  Also, because until we heard there was a 10K, we weren’t planning on doing it this year and I was kind of bummed because I love the RnR so much.  I’m so happy that we’re doing it now 🙂

I bought Joey a wedding ring!

Sadly, it was more expensive and not as purple as this one, which I found inside the candle Hannah gave us all as part of our bridesmaid gifts.

We did our initial walk through at Cheesman.

Basically, a Parks & Rec rep signed off on our ceremony set up plan and now we just have to go get the actual permit.  We might even apply for that marriage license thing while we’re there 🙂

Also, the park is in full bloom and looks lovely!

I wrote up a whole “house tour” post, then bailed on it to post this one 🙂

Happy Friday!
