May Day

Happy May Day!

What are you doing to celebrate?  Dancing around a May Pole?  When I asked Joey if that’s what he wanted to do he said, “may-pole syrup?”  Then looked at me like I was completely insane when I described what a May Pole was.  Eh, maple syrup sounds like a better way to celebrate May than skipping around with a ribbon tied to a pole anyways.

I thought hoped May would finally bring some permanently (or at least until October) warm weather, but this is what I woke up to this morning.  Someone please tell me this is a joke.  You know your weather is ridiculous when Al Roker is reporting it on the Today Show.  I don’t know about you, but I much prefer when the weather in my state is not ridiculous enough to make national news.

In addition to falling snow, I also woke up to a lovely sore throat and am now pretending a sugary muffin and coffee from Starbucks is the remedy.  Please don’t try to convince me otherwise.

Have a good one!

Does it snow a lot where you live?

Do you know what a May Pole is?

What is your sore throat remedy?

Unplugged

This weekend I…

Went to the Farmers’ Market for the first time this season.

Ate the most deliciously soft crepe, stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, spinach and a chipotle sauce, then washed the whole thing down with a Thai iced coffee.  Why didn’t anyone tell me how good those things were?

Toured 7 beautiful Boulder kitchens, not to mention some parts of the city that I didn’t even know existed.

Enjoyed temperatures warm enough to warrant sitting out on a patio.

Watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and actually thought it was pretty good.

Ate homemade pancakes with my mom and my sister.

Threw a barbecue for Joey’s family, complete with burgers, potato salad and our own homebrew.

I took 5 total pictures and posted one of them.  And it was right now in this post.

I ignored Instagram.

I forgot Facebook.

I opened Twitter and hit the home button to scroll to the top of the feed, skipping over every tweet since Friday.

Sometimes unplugging is a totally necessary, refreshing and welcomed thing.

What did you do this weekend?
