May Day

Happy May Day!

What are you doing to celebrate?  Dancing around a May Pole?  When I asked Joey if that’s what he wanted to do he said, “may-pole syrup?”  Then looked at me like I was completely insane when I described what a May Pole was.  Eh, maple syrup sounds like a better way to celebrate May than skipping around with a ribbon tied to a pole anyways.

I thought hoped May would finally bring some permanently (or at least until October) warm weather, but this is what I woke up to this morning.  Someone please tell me this is a joke.  You know your weather is ridiculous when Al Roker is reporting it on the Today Show.  I don’t know about you, but I much prefer when the weather in my state is not ridiculous enough to make national news.

In addition to falling snow, I also woke up to a lovely sore throat and am now pretending a sugary muffin and coffee from Starbucks is the remedy.  Please don’t try to convince me otherwise.

Have a good one!

Does it snow a lot where you live?

Do you know what a May Pole is?

What is your sore throat remedy?

  1. Crazy! Yes, I saw your snow on the news! And we have been complaining here in PA (as usual) apparently for no good reason (as usual- yes, we like to complain). We got a lot of snow this last winter but not in the southeast where I live- in the suburbs just 25 outside Philadelphia.
I hope perfect weather is in store for you starting now and that starbucks did the trick!

  2. Holy crap! Snow in MAY?! We don’t really get much snow here in Tennessee…usually just ice and slush and mess, but we did get our first and only snow of the season around this time last month…which oddly enough was after a week of nice weather! Mother nature is seriously bipolar!

We actually used to do little May pole dances during the spring festival when I was in elementary school! But I agree, MAPLE syrup is more fun nowadays!

Sore throat remedy: LOTS of hot tea and as nasty as the stuff is, I swear by Chloraseptic spray

    • I used to love Chloraseptic spray, except I would use it every time feeling came back into my throat and I’m pretty sure that’s more than the recommended dosage…
