Weekend Things

Guys, whoa, we made it through January finally and I made it through a worse-than-usual cold that kept me home from work last Thursday and now here we are on the other side and, not going to lie, I feel like sort of discombobulated.  I’m hoping it passes soon because this month is too short to waste any time.

I honestly did not feel much better through the first half of Friday, but I ate a really good lunch and started to feel A LOT better.  I still maybe took a small nap in between work and our Friday night plans but it’s crazy what a difference a few hours can make.  Joey, Adam, Josh, Steve, Lauren and I (double Laurens!) went to dinner at FNG (which I officially deem good!) then all went to the Nuggets game, but in different seats 😛  Nuggets won and I guess the guy sitting behind us was having a great time!

Joey went skiing on Saturday and I took it as an opportunity to do basically nothing.  Though my version of nothing still includes making slider buns, walking the dog and going to the eye doctor.  But, if you’ll recall, last time Joey was gone for the day, I ran 100 errands and felt totally wigged out by the end of the day, so this was a major improvement.  Mostly, getting your groceries delivered is a game changer.  Once Joey was back home, we ended the day with Vietnamese Shrimp Noodle Bowls (that I didn’t love) and Leave No Trace, which I also didn’t love but at least found very interesting and well-acted.

There was a brief moment on Sunday morning where I tried to convince myself to make breakfast but you know what’s easier and creates less dishes?  Going out!  Currently going through a Hoja obsession and it was on the way to the movie theater we were headed to afterward, so it seemed a natural choice.  Chilaquiles forever but that chocolate chip tahini muffin and Café de Olla were the real stars of breakfast.  Okay, we saw The Wife afterward and…. I found this film to be very weird.  It just didn’t add up for me.  I guess Glenn Close was good but I’m not always sure what constitutes a “good performance,” so I have to go with my gut and say I enjoyed Lady Gaga’s performance more and honestly, Olivia Colman’s best of all!

I guess the Super Bowl was boring?  I don’t know because I had this puppy sleeping on my lap.  Can your heart even handle it?  If the answer is no then be glad I didn’t manage to snap a picture of Mason (though I did get a video of him bopping along to the halftime show and it was my favorite part ♥♥♥).  So I guess I wasn’t paying the closest attention (am I ever??) but the Game of Thrones commercial, Big Boi (why did I not put it together that it was THAT Big Boi until he was on stage??) and a puff pastry filled with chili and hot dogs (you know what’s underrated?  A hot dog.), were my favorite parts.

What did you do and see this weekend?
