Weekend Things & Stay Safe!

Hello from truly the strangest, most stressful and worrisome times.  I hope you are safe and well and, unlike me, your anxiety level is not at a ten.  So much has happened so quickly and it all feels surreal.  Remember how last week’s post didn’t even mention the Corona Virus?!  And now here we are.  This is a reminder to myself most of all, but let’s all breathe and seriously, please stay home if at all possible!

Joey flew out to Vegas last Wednesday, partly for a work expo and partly for the Pac-12 Tournament but when all of the games were cancelled, I practically begged him to come home early.  He was able to change his flight to Friday afternoon, then rode the Light Rail to Union Station and walked over to Whole Foods so we could brave grocery shopping together.  It actually wasn’t as bad as I’d expected but some of the pantry aisles were pretty ravaged.  We got enough stuff to last us a week or so.  I didn’t see any panic shopping, thankfully!

Back at home, we ate dinner and watched Big Time Adolescence, which premiered at LAST YEAR’S Sundance Film Festival and I’ve been watching out for it ever since.  It stars Pete Davidson and we both really liked it!  It’s on Hulu if you want to check it out 🙂

I truly didn’t leave my house or my pajamas on Saturday.  Am I proud or embarrassed?  Hmm.  Friday night, I mentioned that Clueless was an Emma adaptation and Joey’s response was that he’d never really seen Clueless… WHAT??  Well that had to change, so we rented it up.  You ever re-watch a movie from your childhood and realize just how many times you’d seen it because you know every line, every song, every outfit?  That happened to me.  What a hilarious script though!  The movie holds up!

The only credit I give myself for Saturday is that we cooked dinner.  I promise there’s really creamy pasta and zucchini noodles under all those toasted breadcrumbs.  I really love this recipe!  Plus we finally watched There Will Be Blood.  Now that’s a movie!  Between Okja, Escape at Dannemora and There Will Be Blood, I guess we are only watching Paul Dano things now 😛

I think this photo sums up our Sunday anxiety level.  We had breakfast and got our chores taken care of, then I headed out for my re-scheduled facial from last weekend.  I’m not going to lie, I kept wondering if I should still being doing things like getting a facial but I went.  Afterward, I came home and cleaned up and then we went to my parents’ for corned beef and cabbage.  Am I somehow the most worried person in my family about all of this??  Apparently!

Though our office remains open and employees are welcome to work there if they want, we did ask that anyone not feeling well please stay home and though I feel fine, I just felt more comfortable grabbing my computer and working from home.  Please hang in there, everyone and be smart about all of this!
