We’re back from Boston! We visited Fan Fest, the race expo, the Museum of Ice Cream, an arcade/bowling alley to escape the rain, the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, the Children’s Museum and Fenway, plus most importantly, we got to see Chad run the Boston Marathon and what an amazing moment that was! We also carried two children around almost the entire time, so I was ready for Friday 😅

I had like seven things on my personal agenda, plus some work before Lori brought the kids home that afternoon. We took them across the street to play outside for a bit and then she took off and I made us sweet tea oven-fried chicken with cornbread and coleslaw for dinner. So good! Afterward, our two played in the backyard with the neighbors until bedtime. Joey and I watched the season finale of The Pitt and it felt kind of lackluster, no?

Woke up Saturday with a sore throat for what feels like the tenth time already this year 😫 We had whole wheat buttermilk pancakes and then I took Lydia to her swim lesson and ran a few errands afterward. Back at home, grilled cheese on my freshly baked jalapeno cheddar sourdough 😍 It was my first time with mix-ins! Lydia was acting so crabby so I put her down for a nap and she was none too pleased to be woken back up later. Took them to ride around in their cars just to get outside for a bit and I think it brightened everyone’s mood despite the chilly weather. We ordered in Ginger Pig for dinner and it hit the spot! Got the kiddos bathed and to bed before starting No Other Choice.

I slept in on Sunday and felt a little bit better afterward. We played in the morning but then I had two little shadows everywhere I walked anywhere and I needed to get a few things done, so Joey took them to the children’s museum. While they were gone, I made salads, took a shower, wrapped my sister’s present and finished the fourth season of Love on the Spectrum. I loved seeing the whole cast together at the end! Dani talking to Connor about love and heartbreak was the absolute sweetest 🥹 Once the kids were home, we had a bit of rest time then loaded back up to head to my parents’ and celebrate my sister’s birthday. Lydia helped me pick out some coffee beans and she was very excited to watch her aunt open them. My mom made some really good fajitas and then we walked to the park and let the kids (and Uncle Wayne 😂) play before heading back for dessert. Got the kids home and into bed before watching a bit more of our movie. I swear we’ll finish it tonight! I’m loving it though.
I hope you all have a nice week! Happy Monday 😀
