It’s December! When did that happen? Although I detest anything cold (and this probably has something to do with how I can get out of bed to fill a glass of water and in the 45 seconds it takes to do so, I lose all body heat and my hands and feet suddenly feel like icicles), I truly and honestly love the holiday season. It’s the only time when I don’t mind a little cold, which is good because this is the forecast for the rest of the week.
Yeah, that’s a high of 10 degrees on Thursday.
Anyways, for me, the holidays means enjoying all the fun traditions like watching holiday movies, putting up decorations, wrapping presents, eating fun holiday dinners, baking sugary treats and spending extra time with friends and family. This year we have the added bonus of fitting in a lot of house renovation stuff and some wedding planning. So naturally, I’ve already gotten completely ahead of myself and feel stressed about fitting all the responsibilities in with the fun stuff.
But I’m determined to have it both ways. To get our kitchen back in one piece and still have time to brew a holiday beer. To make (I’m sure) another 10 trips to Ikea and still have time to dig out the Christmas tree and lights. To paint the rest of the house and still have time to bake a batch of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. To book a caterer, find a wedding dress and research florists and still have time to snuggle up in front of my favorite Christmas movies.
So bring it on, December. I’m so ready!
You got this girl! I’m rooting for ya! Maybe you could bribe people to help you and Joey paint the house BY MAKING THEM COOKIES! 😉
But seriously?! I wouldn’t last ONE day in Colorado! I was just complaining about it being in the 30’s last week! Luckily, we’re in some sort of weird warm front right now and it’s been in the upper 50’s/lower 60’s since this weekend! Oh…sorry.
