A Nursery Tour

I am so excited to show you our nursery today! I feel like it took soooo long to pick a paint color and then a wallpaper for the accent wall and to get all the furniture, but then a couple of weekends later the whole thing was finished! I am so loving how peaceful and calm it feels (till there’s a crying baby in there, right?? 😋) and even though baby will actually be sleeping in our room for a while, I’m excited to sit in that rocking chair, use that changing table, open that closet full of teensy baby clothes and maybe even use that crib for daytime naps?? Who knows! Here we go!

First off, here is how the space looked when we first moved in. The previous owners even had our same crib! Felt like everyone we showed the house to assumed we would just leave it as was, but though it was totally sweet and cute in there, we wanted to make it our own. Apologies to those happy animals that we painted over 😬

Here are some in progress photos that I’ve already shown you, but you wanted to see them again, right?? We definitely tried a lot of paint colors and I think four different wall paper/wall decal samples before settling on the ones you see here. I’m really happy with how both of those things turned out and how they look together. The wallpaper was definitely a project (that I really thought I’d be able to help with until I remembered Joey hasn’t let me help with anything this entire pregnancy!) but wow, Joey did such a wonderful job! I’m so grateful ❤

And that’s the whole finished product! Do you love it? I love it! I will link all the items below in case you are curious, but I think the photos are pretty self-explanatory. I will also mention we are waiting on some small hanging bookshelves that are supposed to come some time in October, but those can wait I suppose. We do have a ton of books waiting in the closet though! Joey thought it was weird for me to take a photo of our cloth diaper bag and trash can, but I was sure you guys would want the details of our diaper routine 😂 We didn’t want to commit to any of those expensive trash cans until after we figure out if cloth diapering will work for us. Now all we need in here is a little baby!

  1. Oh my gosh, Lauren, it’s gorgeous! Love this peaceful spot, and I think you’ll love spending time in there. Jack also doesn’t sleep in our nursery yet but we spend a lot of naps in our rocking chair with coffee on the side table so it looks like you’ve got everything set up just right. LOVE those Winnie the Pooh prints. And I’m pretty sure we have the same diaper bag (different color) and it’s a good one. 🙂

    • Oh I’m so glad to hear a good review of the diaper bag. Hopefully I get to leave the house this fall/winter and it actually gets some use 🙂 I can’t wait for naps and rocking chairs and coffee!
