Ooo, this weekend was a good one! I’m just going to jump right into it!

Friday has become our take out night and I’m not mad about it. We decided on Work & Class, where we brought home way too much food for two people but it was all so good. I got a raspberry date honey mocktail and it was amazing! Back inside, we watched The Devil Wears Prada because I’ve watched 75% of it like three times and never seen the end?? Stanley Tucci was my favorite part.

I made us both avocado toast for Saturday breakfast and then when we were done watching The Kitchen (Sunny made paella packets on the grill and said it makes a perfect camping meal and now I’m never going camping unless there’s a paella packet 😋), we started our breastfeeding class. Not going to lie, I’m excited but overwhelmed by the thought of starting this journey in a few weeks, but it’ll all be okay!
Later on, Joey put up these cutie bookshelves in the nursery (they came sooner than I thought!) and then we maybe ordered two more because they’re actually in stock now and turns out baby already has a ton of books! We ate leftovers for dinner (this was SO GOOD) then watched Vertigo (we are on a real Jimmy Stewart kick apparently) and I did not see that twist coming! That Pink Elephants on Parade-esque scene (you know the one) really freaked me out 😱 but I truly dug the movie.

Sunday was the best day! Firstly, we didn’t have to decide what to have for breakfast because we were headed to my parents’ for John Legend’s breakfast sandwiches + hashbrowns by Mom ❤ She pasteurized eggs for me, can you believe it?? Afterward, we FaceTimed my uncle in New Orleans and got to chat for a good bit! Joey, my mom, my sis and I all walked over to the grocery store so Joey and I could grab mums and pumpkins and then, since Joey and I are putting ourselves into quarantine this week, I made my family take one last picture with pregnant me. The next time they see me in person, we’ll have a baby!!! Whoa, that is surreal to think/say!

Back at home, we set those fall decorations out on the front porch, finished our breastfeeding class, read, watched football (well, one of us did…) and sanitized stuff for baby. Another check list item to cross off! We made this Roasted Butternut Squash with Chorizo-Spiced Kale for dinner and it was a lovely little fall veggie dinner for a chilly Sunday night. Big Brother afterward and I’m ready for this season to get interesting already. I hope your weekend was wonderful as well!
