Last night, Joey asked if I had a good weekend and I thought back on all the stuff we did and thought “YES!” I had a really good weekend. Rockies Opening Day (Dempsey’s second and I cannot believe how much less anxiety I had this year than last π¬), perfect Saturday weather for a celebration of life, dinner with my sis, Sunday breakfast at Onefold and just a million laughs because our crazy boy is always getting into stuff and entertaining us β€

I thought life would be easier once Dempsey got down to one nap, but now that one nap is just smack dab in the middle of the day. We decided to just put him down an hour early and he fell right to sleep, easy peasy. Woke him up at 1 and flew out the door. We made it to our seats just in time for the game. And wouldn’t you know it, we made it through the entire game!!!! I guess the solution to keeping your toddler still for three hours is to just feed him the whole time π Afterward, we walked back to the car by way of Union Station and had to stop and play in the fountain. Demps loved it!

Saturday started with lemon ricotta waffles. Our waffle maker is officially broken π’ so it maybe oozed batter every time, but sure tasted good! A bit later, Lori came over to hang with Demps and Joey and I headed out for a celebration of life. It could not have been nicer weather and we were glad to be there.

Afterward, much chilling ensued. The first picture is Joey and Dempsey watching Turning Red — can’t say I was fully paying attention the whole time but what I did see, I liked and man did I laugh over all the fantasy scenes of men as mermaids ππ I’d been a Townie for sure! — and the second picture is the one I sent to lure my sister over to have dinner with us. It worked!

After years of take out, Joey is OVER IT! Which means we actually went out to Fire on the Mountain and I’m glad we did because the wait wasn’t too long and fresh hot food IS pretty good. Demps was so well-behaved the whole time! He’d rather I gave him a whole wing than pick off the meat for him, but I think he’s mostly into blue cheese π I love spending time with my sis so much so it was so so nice to see her!

After dinner and Dempsey bedtime, we looked through our favorites and After Yang won because it was only 96 minutes long. I felt like I had a lot of questions at the end, but now that I’ve had a few days to think about it, I really liked the movie. It’s slow but in a deliberate and thoughtful way. Like it’s not rushing to show you a bunch of stuff, but instead, taking its time to show you the things that are important. Give it a try, if you have 96 minutes to spare!

We hadn’t been to Onefold in so long, so we knew we wanted to go this weekend. We dined in again! Does Dempsey need his own $15 meal? Probably not, but we always just figure the leftovers will be another meal for one of us later in the week. He tried his best to pick up those quesadilla slices but they were HEFTY, so he ended up just opening it up and eating the inside. Smart! We debated a spontaneous trip to the Denver Aquarium but then remembered the 10 loads of laundry we had to do and headed back home.

I left the boys at home for a quick trip to the mall and when I got back, Demps was napping and Joey was working, so I ate lunch, read and made our lunch salads for the week. When little man was back up, we made some banana muffins together, which was mostly me trying to stop him from eating the batter π I had my yoga mat out later and Dempsey kept pushing me off of it so he could run back and forth on it! Oh and at some point, he needed to wear Dad’s shoes. This child! So funny. We had leftovers for dinner and Dempsey got a bath and hey, we actually went to bed early. What did you do this weekend?
10 loads of Laundry! Too much. Hope you have a great week ahead!
I may have exaggerated that number a bit π
