Vibes were weird this weekend 😅 Everyone was just in a strange mood and things didn’t go according to plan for one reason or another, but what can you do? Still, I made a pie, we bought backyard flowers and got them planted, celebrated Landon’s birthday, went to the Farmers’ Market and actually managed to tuck our two kiddos into bed before 8 PM last night.

A kitchen Friday for me, as I made a strawberry rhubarb pie and then, once the kids and Joey were home, we did homemade spaghetti noodles for dinner. Extremely stressful to keep an eye on four sets of fingers that I don’t want to get too close to the pasta attachment as they both insist on doing it themselves, so most of the noodles came out ramen-style but what can you do? They actually ate it this time too! Afterward, we started GOAT and ate our pie à la mode. It had soooo much liquid inside but Dempsey ate his entire piece and told me “your pie was so good, Mom! Even better than the ice cream,” and it made me so happy 🥹🥰

A Saturday of big feelings and big celebrations 😅 We had weird waffles for breakfast (I think I might’ve mis-measured the flour 😂) and then got the kids dressed, so we could go buy flowers for the backyard. Selection was so sub-par but we did our best. The petunias are LEGGY! Dempsey helped me lay everything out, then plant it all and Lydia mostly threw a huge fit over me not letting her have a second popsicle. After lunch, I got her down for a much needed nap and once she was up, we gathered ourselves up and headed over to Landon’s birthday party. It was a good time and Joey got thee funniest photo of the birthday boy’s dark blue lips and tongue from his frosting 😂 Happy Birthday, Landon! Got back home and the kids wanted soup dumplings, which I actually did have in the freezer. They don’t even know how good they have it! Then we put them to bed and watched some of the season finale of SNL.

Why was Sunday a million years long?? We took ourselves to Paperboy for breakfast, went to the Farmers’ Market and visited the neighbors’ lemonade stand all before noon then had just so many hours to kill afterward. Paperboy was really good but they had the AC blasting, so we had two very cold, very whiny children to tend to 😩 The FM was crowded as always, but at least we weren’t in a hurry. They had cherries and peaches already?! The rest of the day involved salad making for me, hydrating socks for the kids, the rest of GOAT (hey, I kinda liked it!), a robot craft for Dempsey and I and dinner before bedtime rolled around. Dempsey fell asleep “reading” a book again and why is that the cutest thing??
This week is for concert prep, — I gotta break in my new shoes and listen to ARIRANG 1000 more times — Spirit Week and Field Day at Dempsey’s school and making it to my Friday manicure without breaking a nail 😅 Happy Monday!
