Kaleo at the Bluebird

First, I should tell you that I have a serious eye twitch this week.  This happens from time to time and the answer is usually sleep but ever since the time change, I’ve been waking up at FIVE A.M.?!  So my body is either prematurely preparing for old age or I’m just a little too excited about life right now and feel like sleep is a waste of time.  Luckily, I’ve been able to fall back asleep but this eye twitch wants to keep on keepin on, I guess.

In other news, my sister, Jenn, Joey and I saw Kaleo at the Bluebird last night and I’m still riding that concert high so hard right now!

Joey and I have been obsessing over this band since we saw them at Film on the Rocks this summer and even though they were only the opening band, we couldn’t not go to this concert and miss a chance at seeing them again live.  We’ve been talking them up for months but their actual performance was better than I ever could’ve imagined.  At the risk of writing about a million words on how good they were (and are) and letting my crazy show, I’m just going to say I am SO blown away by the lead singer’s voice and their musical style and the fact that they are from Iceland, because that is the coolest.  I totally fangirled and made JJ take a picture with us afterwards and I’m not sure who was more excited about it, me or Joey.

P.S. I made them pronounce their names and Icelandic sounds went in one ear and out the other.

P.P.S. I’ve never been to a concert where people seemed more excited about the opening band than the headliner.  Family of the Year?  Who?

P.P.P.S. All Kaleo infatuation aside, getting girl time with Jenn and my sister makes my heart feel so full.  They make me so happy and I love them, and Joey, for always being so cool about hanging with three girls 🙂

HAPPY FRIDAY!

  1. […] But back to happier times, like Friday when Joey, my sister and her boyfriend Wayne saw Michael Ian Black at Comedy Works.  If you don’t know who MIB is, you clearly didn’t watch enough VH1 growing up (he was on all the I Love the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s shows) and you seriously need to reevaluate your Twitter follows.  I loved MIB — and laughed when he told this story like I hadn’t already heard it before — but I kinda thought the comedian who went on before him was HILARIOUS and may have liked him better.  P.S. How lucky am I to hang out with my cute little sister two nights in a row?! […]
