Tuesday morning’s perfect sunrise.
Last night, as I reached over to turn out the light, memories of a cartoon my sister and I watch a million times flashed into my head. This morning, I Googled it and ALL THE MEMORIES came flooding back in vivid detail. A quick text to my sister and she had the same experience. The Princess and the Goblin, if you were wondering.
Today, it is 75 degrees in Colorado. A morning walk to pick up iced coffee was practically required. A small taste of spring/summer in winter is always nice.
This morning, “On Your Porch” by The Format shuffled up on the iPod and I was taken straight back to high school when I played Interventions and Lullabies on repeat. How is it that I could love The Format so much but hate Fun.? Or love Jack’s Mannequin but hate Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness? How many other bands/singers do I like or dislike just because of the style of music they do?
I’m taking my nephew to Monster Jam tomorrow. Pray for me.
On Tuesday, we had dinner at True Food Kitchen and this is a bold statement but I feel like I never need to eat there again. Not that anything was bad, it’s just… I’ve outgrown it? Back when I first discovered it, I hardly knew the Denver dining scene, but three years later, I’ve realized there’s so many places that are better/closer/cheaper. Sometimes you graduate from eating at certain places, ya know?
I wish I had a way to wrap up this post and bring it all together, but I don’t. It’s just a collection of thought and moments that have been floating around my head-space recently. Which is fine for me if it’s fine for you.
Wishing you all a Happy Weekend!
Now it’s my turn to be like “yes yes we are cut from the same cloth!” because I also love The Format/Jack’s Mannequin but don’t care for Fun or Andrew solo. Actually, there are one or two Fun songs I like from when they were first-formed, pre-“We Are Young” fame (ie: The Gambler). What a perfect start to the weekend, I’m mesmerized! I’m working today, but still trying to make the best of it.
[…] I am listening to The Format thanks to a boost of nostalgia from reading Lauren’s blog post. I am enjoying the fact that it’s a little sunny (rare here) and in the fifties. I almost […]
