It may have been Friday night taco excitement or the first bike ride of the summer on Saturday morning or party hopping and staying out till 1 AM or braving the grocery store at peak shopping hour on a Sunday or this morning’s speedy faster-than-normal run, but I am TIRED today. But it was all so worth it because when it’s June and it finally feels like summer and friends are celebrating engagements and weddings and traveling by bike or foot feels so right, then feeling a little sleepy is a small price to pay.
We made these Creamy Poblano Tacos on Friday night and though they were just okay, I still feel we’re doing pretty good on our “Taco Summer” vow.
Guys, I was reunited with the Union Station Farmers’ Market on Saturday and it made me so happy I could cry. And I remembered how to ride a bike, so that’s good. Filled my basket with lettuces, chives, rhubarb, tomatoes and asparagus. Also maybe sampled some peanut butter. This summer Saturday routine makes my world go ’round.
Bobby and Becca are getting married!!! I’m so happy and excited for these two amazing people. Wrote them some very important wedding planning advice inside a card that went something like “have at least three cake tastings!”
From one celebration of love to another! We headed to Katie and Andrew’s wedding that evening and it was A) BEAUTIFUL B) FUN AS HELL and C) THE BEST
The speeches (or in the case of Katie’s MOH, the rap!) were so funny and touching and Katie and Andrew totally sang a song from Frozen together, so how cute is that? We sat at the Big Daddy table, which is obviously the best table, plus we got to take succulents home. Such a good good night!
Sunday involved walking to breakfast, me complaining about how scrambled eggs shouldn’t be brown and should be seasoned on the walk back home, a massage with my mama, grocery shopping, salad making, leftover eating and the premiere of Food Network Star. I all of a sudden like Matthew? Help, I don’t know what’s happening.
What did you do this weekend?
What a truly splendid weekend! I was curious about your egg opinions when you posted on instagram. Girl, I feel ya. I used to not eat scrambled eggs at all and only recently discovered that I like them WHEN (and only when) I make them. If eggs have the “wrong” texture, I get grossed out by them really fast, haha. P.S.: Give my love to the much missed Farmer’s Market!
