Weekend Things

It is that part of the summer where I keep wondering if it’s the last time this year that I’ll get to do a lot of things.  “Is this the last time I get to go for a morning bike ride?”  “Is this the last time we get to eat dinner outside?”  “Is this the last time I buy peaches??”  It’s bittersweet but I mostly feel okay about just savoring these last summertime moments, knowing a new season with it’s own thrills is waiting just around the corner.

Guys, I’m like four dogs away from trying all of the options at Biker Jim’s and… I sort of never want to eat a hot dog again.  I might find renewed strength in the next few days, but I might also just call it good enough.  I did like the bacon cheddar dog though!  Afterward, it was the PERFECT weather night at Coors Field and we won 🙂

Saturday morning, we biked over to Maria Empanada to grab breakfast and then walked it over to the Platte to eat along the river.  I saw Tony Wolters walking his dog as we biked over and was so excited.  Joey didn’t even notice him!  Joey’s chorizo empanada was way better than my egg and potato (duh, Lauren) but he let me have the last few bites, so I guess it’s true love.  Afterward, we ordered our groceries online and this outing went from fun and carefree to hot and stressful very quickly.

We spent the afternoon at Becca and Andrea’s birthday party, then headed home to tend to our pup and watch Bad Times at the El Royale.  It wasn’t necessarily bad but it also wasn’t good.  Worth it just to hear Cynthia Erivo sing though!

Sunday started when I groggily walked back from the bathroom with my eyes half open and proceeded to drop my glass of water onto my nightstand, where both my phone and a pile of library books were sitting.  That’ll wake you up!  But despite that rude awakening, the rest of the day was actually pretty perfect.  Joey said he wanted to wake up and drink coffee on our deck, so we did just that, then read for a bit and it was basically my favorite thing ♥

I made salads for us while the Cowboys game was on, then we headed to the Pedestrian Shop to buy some new shoes for our trip to Italy and it was a success!  I dropped Joey off then headed to yoga and back at home, we made this dinner that I’d been wanting for weeks.  Ate it outside and it was all I wanted and more!  I hope your weekend was good 🙂
